Experts in Boise: ‘Suicide a public health crisis’

Experts gathered in Boise Wednesday to discuss how to prevent the 10th leading cause of death in the United States — suicide. Idaho ranks fifth in suicides nationwide. "It’s not uncommon in this region for suicide rates to be higher than the national average," said John Reusser, director of the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline. "We have a rugged individualist culture here, and there is low funding for mental health.
