CLEAT demands Gov. Abbott make COVID-19 presumptive illness for first responders – KTXS

Charley Wilkison, the Executive Director of the Combined Law Enforcement Agency of Texas (CLEAT), is demanding Governor Greg Abbott add COVID-19 to the list of presumptive illnesses for first responders. That means it would automatically be presumed , if a first responder gets the virus, that he or she got it while on duty. Doing so would make first responders eligible for treatment through workman’s compensation without having to prove they got the virus on the job.
